Charity Quilting
Members participate in many charity quilting opportunities organized through the guild. See below for details on each!
Charity Quilting
CURRENTLY NOT MEETING
Interested guild members meet on the third and fourth Wednesdays of the month at Unitarian Universalist Church at 333 Meridian Street in West Lafayette to make quilts for the local women's shelter.
We start at 9:30 and work until 2 p.m. Members may bring their machines or just come to help. There is always plenty to do! If you bring a machine you may be piecing a top, stitching layers together and turning quilts, or attaching labels. Tying quilts or layering quilt tops are available for those who don't bring a machine. We have plenty of supplies to use.
Members stay for a few hours or all day. They can bring a lunch or order a sandwich from a local restaurant to be picked up by one member. We always have a good time! You can make quilts at home and donate them too. Email us for more information about charity quilting.
We donated 75 quilts to the shelter, 8 quilts to the ACT team and 15 quilts to Jubilee Christmas in 2021.

Quilts of Valor
Members can make quilts for the Quilt of Valor Foundation. Quilts are presented to veterans and are generally made of red, white, and blue fabric, but not florals or kid's prints. Minimum size is 60 x 72 inches and must be all machine done. We have QOV labels available for the back.

Cat Pillows
Guild members can also make cat pillows. These are pillowcase-sized bags filled with fabric and batting scraps left over from projects. The bags are donated to local cat rescue groups. Maximum size is 18 x 22, but smaller ones gladly accepted! Bring the bags to any meeting to donate.
We donated 156 cat bags in 2017 and 117 bags in 2018.
In 2019, we donated 203 bags to various animal charities and vet clinics. This number has dropped since then because of the pandemic, but we look forward to increasing it again.
